6/8 Opera in the Shower

with No Comments

Presented by: Rachel Parish and Audrey Gámez

Opera in the Shower is a playful meditation on the use of water in our daily lives.

A shower-shaped fountain will appear in Zuccotti Park, recycling as it runs. From within, an opera singer, dressed in an old-fashioned bathing costume and shower cap, will sing nature-themed arias from her repertoire interspersed with operatic renditions of water-themed songs a la “Row, Row, Row Your Boat.”

Opera in the Shower was inspired by Helen Banner’s concept of a “medieval water opera” and is created by Rachel Parish and Audrey Gamez. It is part of the Arts Brookfield Series at Zuccotti Park. Arts Brookfield presents exciting, world-class cultural experiences to hundreds of thousands of people for free each year in both indoor and outdoor public spaces at Brookfield’s premier properties.
